The U.S. Department of Education (ED) notified Concept Schools and Horizon Science Academy Des Moines that its FY 2023 Federal CSP Grant application for opening a new charter school has been selected for funding.
While Concept and HSA have been notified of the five-year award, grant activities may not begin until after Concept and HSA participate in a post-award performance conference call with the ED CSP program officer and submit all required clarifying information and application amendments regarding the grant project, as outlined by the CSP program officer during the post-award performance conference call, and the CSP program officer provides written authorization for grant activities to begin.
HSA is the first charter public school to be governed by a local board in Des Moines, and it opened this Fall to serve Kindergarten through 3rd grade students. Concept Schools is its non-profit charter management organization responsible for providing comprehensive academic, financial, and operational services.
