Carrie Bening

Carrie has been a resident of the Des Moines area most of her life. She graduated from Drake University with a BSE in Special Education. She taught in Des Moines, Chicago, and Urbandale.  Since leaving the teaching field she has been a full-time volunteer at many organizations. She spends most of her volunteer time helping Foster Children as a CASA or Court Appointed Special Advocate. 

In her spare time, she spends time with her husband and four adult kids. Her hobbies are traveling, yoga, walking, hiking, skiing, and getting her two four-legged kids, Fritzgerald and Theodore, out to Waterworks Park. 

Why HSA? All families should have options to send their kids where they feel is best for their child(ren). Each one of these children gets one opportunity to grow up in the school system and HSA provides a rigorous STEM program for all kids.
